Decision #22: How will you inspire cultural collaboration?

Cultural collaboration is a way of bringing different cultures together. Yu (2021) wrote “creating a culture of learning to encourage employees to help one another, cultivate gratitude, practice transparency, and understand how each employee can contribute to the overall company success inspires real distribution that leads to a new way of thinking and defines your start-up inside and out”. Encouraging positivity and gratitude is a great way to cultivate collaboration and allows for a strong team to be built.

Decision #23: How has your technology connected humanity in a bigger and better way?

Technology has provided a means of connection. Make sure you are using technology to your advantage, as a way to stay ahead of competitions. Ensuring that technology is aligned with your end goals and benefits your employees and customers is also important. You don’t want to misuse technology and have that lead to dissatisfaction.

Decision #24: How will you armor up for adversity?

Each day brings different results. Some days you will put forth a lot of effort and see little results whereas other days the opposite might be true. You cannot let doubt affect your decision making - stay focused on what is in your control. Yu (2021) provides four actions one can take to armor up for adversity: look up, prepare and stay the course, celebrate small wines, and inspire believers and work together.

Decision #25: How will you handle the loneliness factor?

Building a community is a great way to handle the loneliness factor. It can be challenging when you feel that others do not understand the pressure and challenges you face as a CEO so building a community of people who have been in your shoes and understand what you’re going through is a great way to work through the loneliness that one may feel.

Decision #26: How will you take care of and preserve yourself?

You must understand what founding a start-up entails and focusing on your mental and physical health is important. Caring for yourself is just as important as caring for your employees. You want to make sure that you are taking each step at a pace that is sustainable because you do not want to burn yourself out. You founded your start-up because it is something you are passionate about and you don’t want to lose that fire because you aren’t caring for yourself.
